Decatur Presbyterian Children's Community

Welcome to Decatur Presbyterian Children's Community. We are delighted to offer a safe and caring learning environment where every child is respected, valued, and known by name. DPCC has operated for over 50 years as an outreach ministry of Decatur Presbyterian Church is located at 205 Sycamore Street in Decatur. DPCC was the first church kindergarten in DeKalb County.


FALL REGISTRATION INFORMATION

In House Registration for the 2010-2011 school year is January 29 – February 12, 2010. Registration is open to currently enrolled families and church members during In House Registration.

Public Registration for the 2010-2011 school year begins February 17th. Registration is open to new families during Public Registration.

OPEN HOUSE
FRIDAY, JANUARY 29, 2010
9:00 A.M. – 12 NOON

A drop- in event! There are no classes in session during Open House, so there will be ample opportunity to talk with the teachers, as well as tour the facilities, and pick up registration materials.

Registration materials will not be available prior to January 29,2010.

***We will accept completed registration materials from new families during the In House Registration period and hold them in the order received for processing on February 12, 2010.***

Also, sign up for a tour during the school day and see us in actions – either at the Open House or by calling the DPCC office at 404-378-1770, after Jan. 5, 2010.

The purposes of DPCC, as established by the Session of Decatur Presbyterian Church are

Philosophy

DPCC operates from the point of view that a child's work is play, and our classroom approach reflects a creative, play-oriented philosophy. Teachers pull from a variety of published curricula to create thematic and age-appropriate units for their classes. Our program is rich in indoor and outdoor play, art, music, literature, science, social studies, reading and math readiness.
